This Refund & Return Policy explains the process for requesting a return, reporting a shortage or damaged shipment, and receiving an approved refund or replacement for wholesale goods purchased from CALIFORNIA CONTRACTOR LLC. Because wholesale orders may involve multiple units, cartons and freight arrangements, returns are not handled as an automatic consumer-style drop-off process.
1. Requesting a return
If you believe an item is defective, materially different from the accepted order, shipped in error or otherwise eligible for return, contact us within 14 calendar days after delivery unless the accepted invoice or applicable law provides a different period. Early notice is especially important for carrier damage, shortages and incorrect cartons because shipping records and packaging evidence may be needed.
Send the order reference, affected product name or SKU, quantity involved, reason for the request and photographs when condition or transit damage is relevant. A complete request helps us determine whether a return, replacement, credit, shortage adjustment or carrier claim is the appropriate remedy.
2. Return authorization is required
Do not ship products back until written return instructions or a return authorization has been provided. Unapproved returns can be difficult to identify, may be sent to the wrong location and may incur freight or handling costs that cannot be credited.
Return instructions may specify the authorized quantity, shipping method, destination, packaging requirements and any documentation that should be included. Authorization to send an item back does not automatically guarantee a refund; returned merchandise may need to be inspected to confirm condition and eligibility.
3. General condition requirements
Unless the return is based on a verified defect, our shipping error or another issue that makes normal resale condition impossible, approved goods should generally be returned unused, uninstalled, unaltered and in original resale-ready packaging with manuals, accessories and components that were included.
Items showing avoidable wear, customer use, missing parts, odors, stains, intentional modification, improper storage or damage after delivery may be rejected or credited at a reduced amount when permitted by law and disclosed during the return review.
Preserve the packaging: when a shipment arrives damaged or appears short, keep cartons, labels, pallet wrap, packing materials and carrier documents until the claim has been reviewed. Discarding evidence can make a freight claim harder to prove.
4. Products that may be restricted or non-returnable
Certain wholesale goods may be non-returnable or subject to additional conditions, particularly special-order items, custom-labeled goods, closeout or final-sale merchandise, products sourced specifically for a buyer, items with broken hygiene or safety seals, and goods that cannot reasonably be returned to resale condition.
If a particular item is final sale or subject to a special condition, that information should be communicated in the listing, quote, invoice or order correspondence when practical. A special-order restriction does not eliminate remedies that cannot legally be waived for verified defects or shipment errors.
5. Transit damage, concealed damage and shortages
Visible damage
When possible, inspect cartons or freight before signing the delivery receipt. If there is visible crushing, puncture, water exposure, torn shrink wrap, missing cartons or other apparent damage, note the condition on the carrier document and take clear photographs before moving or opening the shipment.
Concealed damage
Damage may become visible only after a carton is opened. Report concealed damage promptly and preserve the product and packaging. We may ask for photographs of the item, internal packing, exterior carton, shipping label and pallet condition.
Shortages or incorrect items
If the physical quantity does not match the accepted order, compare the delivery paperwork and carton labels, then contact us with the missing or incorrect line items. We may review packing records and carrier information before issuing an adjustment.
6. Category-specific return considerations
Clothing and textile items
Approved apparel returns should be unworn, unwashed, unaltered and free of odors, stains, pet hair or other condition changes. Pack assortments should remain complete unless the approved claim concerns only identified defective units.
Small appliances and electrical items
Appliances should not be disassembled, modified or subjected to misuse. Where a defect is alleged, we may ask for the model label, packaging, serial or batch information if present, and a description or short video demonstrating the issue. Electrical products should be used only as directed by the manufacturer.
Toys and activity products
Toys should remain complete with included pieces and packaging unless the claim concerns missing or defective contents. Products showing abuse, unauthorized modification or loss of components after receipt may not qualify for a full credit.
7. Return freight and restocking
Responsibility for return freight depends on why the return is approved. If the return results from our confirmed shipment error or a verified defect for which we accept responsibility, we may provide or reimburse an appropriate return method. For discretionary buyer-requested returns, the buyer may be responsible for return freight and any reasonable restocking charge communicated as part of the authorization.
Freight charges already incurred are generally not refundable on a discretionary return. We do not apply a restocking fee simply because a claim exists; any such charge should reflect the circumstances and be disclosed before the approved return is completed.
8. Exchanges and replacements
A replacement may be offered when stock is available and the issue can be resolved more efficiently than through a refund. Replacement timing depends on availability and shipping. We will not automatically substitute a different product for a materially different item without buyer approval.
9. Refunds, credits and timing
Once an authorized return is received, we may inspect the goods and compare the returned quantity with the authorization. Approved refunds or credits are generally processed using the original business payment method or another mutually agreed method. Bank, card or accounting systems may require additional time to post a completed refund.
Any approved deduction for missing units, damaged packaging, unauthorized quantities, restocking or buyer-responsible freight should be explained as part of the return settlement. If only part of an order is affected, the adjustment may be limited to the verified items rather than the full order.
10. Order cancellation before shipment
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an order that has been accepted but not yet shipped. A cancellation request is not guaranteed. If goods have already been specially sourced, labeled, packed, tendered to a carrier or otherwise committed, cancellation may be unavailable or may involve costs already incurred.
An order request that has not yet been accepted may generally be withdrawn, but notify us promptly so inventory and freight review can be stopped.
11. Chargebacks and dispute communication
If you believe an invoice or shipment contains an error, contact us before initiating a payment dispute when practical. Providing the order reference and specific disputed line allows us to investigate records, delivery information and return options. Nothing in this section prevents a party from exercising a lawful payment or dispute right.
12. Abuse or fraudulent returns
We may decline a return that appears fraudulent, materially inconsistent with shipment records, or involves goods not supplied in the order. We may also limit future ordering if there is documented return abuse, repeated unauthorized deductions or intentional misuse of the process.
